Playing with food - Kohlrabi

I saw this miserable looking kohlrabi, neglected and sad.  So I decided to give it a beauty makeover.   Similar to cosmetic surgery but for vegetables -  You know what I mean.   Afterall, I have not done any carving for months. 
       

Here is the transformation

 

First, peel the skin and shape it round.

As a guideline, 'draw' a 5cm circle in the centre and cut out a 3cm x 3cm deep centre.

 Cut out the first petals.




And continue........

 

 Frankly, I am out of practice.   The petals, in the beginning were so stiff - dead.    Only the last set of petals have some 'life'.
